A delegation of the University of Nicosia participated in a meeting at the University of Salerno, Italy, in the framework of the European University Alliance NEOLAiA, of which it is a full member. The meeting, which took place on 11 and 12 December 2024, focused on the development of joint curricula between the universities of the alliance.
The University of Nicosia was represented at the meeting by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Panagiotis Angelides and Associate Professor Despo Lerodiaconou of the Faculty of Medicine. The meeting took place in the framework of NEOLAiA’s Work Package 2, entitled Improving Teaching and Learning.
During the meeting, the University of Nicosia participated in the discussion on the creation of an undergraduate and a postgraduate curriculum. These two inter-university programmes will be offered jointly by universities of the alliance.
The NEOLAiA Alliance of European Universities consists of nine leading, young, progressive and innovative universities, ranked among the best in the world. Partners in the Alliance, together with the University of Nicosia, are the University of Bielefeld (Germany), Örebro University (Sweden), University of Salerno (Italy), University of Jaén (Spain), University of Tours (France), University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), “Stefan Cel Mare” University of Suceava (Romania) and Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania).
The Alliance focuses on creating an innovative European University with campuses in nine countries and has received €14.4 million in funding from the European Commission over four years.
