A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Region of Western Greece and the University of Nicosia was signed today, February 6, 2025, in the Regional Council of the PDE.
The Region of Western Greece was represented by the Deputy Regional Governor Charalambos Bonanos while the University of Nicosia was represented by the Director of the Department of Student Admission of the University of Nicosia Anastasios Demetriou.
In the context of this cooperation and without any charge for the Region of Western Greece is planned:
- Cooperation and development of joint activities, exchange of know-how. Joint organisation of scientific or research activities (e.g. conferences, workshops, events).
- Any other research or academic activity of mutual benefit decided by the partners.
- Organisation of educational seminars with the support of the University of Nicosia.
- Implementation of training programmes aiming at lifelong education on topics to be jointly developed by the Region of Western Greece and the University of Nicosia.
- Provision of two scholarships, amounting to 50% of the tuition fees, for admission to lifelong undergraduate programmes offered by the University of Nicosia.
- To organize ingenuity and innovation competitions with a specific theme, present the most successful ones and finally provide a prize for the winner during an event where the Region of Western Greece and the University of Nicosia will jointly award the prize.
- Promotion, networking, dissemination activities, participation in conferences, exhibitions, as well as the organisation of seminars, conferences, meetings and experiential workshops on topics related to the scope of the projects.
- The above actions, as discussed, will not create financial obligations for the Region of Western Greece.
