Connecting youth with seniors through digital and green education
The University of Limassol in collaboration with the Materia Group, conducted the second workshop with young members of the United Youth of Lympia, as part of the InterGenic project implementations on November 2nd, 2024.
The InterGenic project focuses on supporting the European Union’s twin transition through intergenerational learning, knowledge exchange and joint actions. The project is co-funded by the European Union and the ERASMUS+ programme in the field of adult education and involves 7 partners from 6 different European countries including Spain, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Romania and Cyprus.
During the workshop, participants focused on reviewing and evaluating the usefulness, relevance and structure of the training package developed by the partnership.
The training package’s content is based on the outcomes derived from the deliberation during the first workshop, which was implemented in the community in April 2024. Employing a co-creation methodology, young participants contributed valuable insights and supported the process of content development by providing their current knowledge on the importance of digital skills development and suggesting technological tools that seniors can use to improve and facilitate their daily lives with safety.
The educational training package is set to be finalised and will be made available online in all partner languages. Then, through mentorship and intergenerational collaboration, youth and seniors in Lympia will work together to share their knowledge of digital and green practices, actively supporting the community’s transition toward a more sustainable and digitally engaged future.
