The European project ‘Storytelling as Pharmakon in Premodernity and Beyond: Training the New Generation of Researchers in Health Humanities’ (StoryPharm) coordinated by the Research Unit for Medieval Arts and Rituals (CeMAR, https://www.ucy.ac.cy/cemar/) of the University of Cyprus is organizing its first training programme. This programme, which will take place between 16 and 20 June 2025 at the Information Centre – Library ‘Stelios Ioannou’ (Room LRC012), includes seminars, workshops, guided tours and lectures by experts in the humanities of health sciences. The following seminars and workshops are open to the public:

The StoryPharm project has secured €5.1 million in funding under the highly competitive European Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action – Doctoral Networks Programme (2021-2027).The StoryPharm network includes the universities of Cyprus, Bamberg (Germany), Lund (Sweden), Salerno (Italy) and Cardiff (UK), as well as non-academic stakeholders including pharmaceutical companies, publishing houses, museums and libraries.
The project employs 19 PhD candidates who receive a very high quality and multidisciplinary training in order to acquire important research and other skills that will enable them to excel in the fields of research, health, education and cultural industries.
