The new European project “Storytelling as Pharmakon in Premodernity and Beyond: Training the New Generation of Researchers in Health Humanities” (StoryPharm) of the Centre for Medieval Arts and Rituals (CeMAR), https://www.ucy.ac.cy/cemar/) of the University of Cyprus announces the official launch of its activities which will take place in the framework of a two-day symposium on October 17-18 at the Information Centre – Library “Stelios Ioannou”. The symposium is free of charge and open to the public.
The StoryPharm project has secured €5.1 million in funding under the highly competitive European programme Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action – Doctoral Networks Programme of Horizon Europe (2021-2027).
The project is implemented by a network of five universities: the University of Cyprus, the University of Bamberg (Germany), the University of Lund (Sweden), the University of Salerno (Italy) and the University of Cardiff (UK). Seven non-academic partners are also involved, including pharmaceutical companies, publishing houses, museums and libraries.
The project will employ 19 PhD students who will receive a very high quality and multi-dimensional training to acquire important research and other skills that will enable them to excel in the fields of research, health, education and cultural industries.
