A pioneering initiative for skills development in the field of Offshore Renewable Energy in Southern Europe.
The official launch of the SHOREWINNER project, which aims to strengthen the offshore renewable energy sector in Southern Europe, will take place in Cyprus on 26 September 2024, at the Cyprus Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Nicosia, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The SHOREWINNER project is an ambitious partnership under the Erasmus+ programme that brings together 22 partners from a total of five Southern European countries, namely Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Spain, Italy and Cyprus. The partners are working with great dedication towards creating a strong Community of Practice (CoP) dedicated to Offshore Renewable Energy (RES), while focusing on upgrading skills and re-skilling the workforce to be able to meet the ever-increasing demand for specialists in this vital sector.
The upcoming event, co-organised by the SHOREWINNER Cyprus Centre of Professional Excellence (CoVE), will be a milestone in the journey towards a sustainable and innovative offshore energy sector in Southern Europe.
This is a unique opportunity to participate in a community focused on promoting vocational training and fostering cross-border cooperation. In Cyprus, the SHOREWINNER CoVE project is composed of the following organisations: the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the University of Cyprus (UCY), the CARDET Research and Training Centre and INTERCOLLEGE.
To achieve the above, the project launch event provides unique opportunities both to engage with the project and to receive detailed information about this effort:
- Engage with experts: Take the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, academics and policy makers in a dynamic discussion on the future skills needed for the HSE sector.
- Networking opportunities: network with key players from Southern Europe through partnerships that will lead to research, development and innovation in the broad spectrum of renewable energy intertwined with the sustainable blue economy.
- Education and Development: Find out about upcoming training programmes, which are designed to equip professionals with the necessary skills to enable them to excel in the offshore energy sector.
The event will be hybrid, giving participants the option to participate either in person or online.
