CCS-Women, a newly launched initiative of Cyprus Computer Society-CCS, organised the 1st Networking event in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner of Communications – Digital Security Authority on May 7th in Nicosia, aiming to create synergies among existing ‘Women in Technology’ groups and initiatives,  showcase their activities, and invite all participants into an open dialogue towards advancing gender diversity and inclusion in ICT.

The programme included welcome notes by the Commissioner for Communications, Mr George Michaelides, and the Vice-President of the CCS, Mr Andreas Loutsios. This was followed by an overview of the actions of Cyprus Computer Society by Mr Toumazis Toumazi and a presentation of CCS-Women initiative by Dr Andriani Piki, Assistant Professor in Computing at UCLan Cyprus, on behalf of the CCS-Women organizing committee. The event also included presentations by the following women networks active in Cyprus: ACM-W: ACMs Women in Computing – ACM-W Cyprus Chapter, Girls in STEAM Academy, Women in Tech®Cyprus, Women Techmakers Cyprus – Greece, Women4Cyber Cyprus, and Young BPW Cyprus.
