The M50 Progress Meeting of the European research project iclimabuilt was hosted on the 3rd and 4th of June 2025 at the Patission complex of NTUA. The event took place in the recently renovated Hall of Statues, in the building of the Historical Rectorate of NTUA. The event was attended by representatives of the 27 project partners from 15 European countries.
After the meeting, the participants were given a guided tour of the Averoff building, informed about the history of the complex and the Foundation, and had the opportunity to browse the photographic exhibition hosted in the Hall of Statues, on the theme of the Polytechnic Uprising.
With a total budget of €15 million and a duration of 54 months, iclimabuilt is a major project that aims to establish an Open Innovation Ecosystem, oriented towards the promotion and support of technologies aimed at the development of Near Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB). Through the project’s Single Entry Point, access to infrastructure, pilot production lines, testing equipment and technical support is offered to SMEs and innovative start-ups in the building technologies sector.
The project is coordinated by Professor Konstantinos Charitidis of the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering and is expected to be completed in August. The scientific achievements of the project include the development of new materials, systems, testing and characterisation procedures, digital tools, as well as tools to accelerate the commercial application of advanced technologies. The ecosystem will be managed after the end of iclimabuilt by WiseClimaBuild, a company established under the project, of which NTUA is a shareholder.
