The European Innovation Council (EIC) warmly welcomes its 10th Programme Manager. Carina Faber covers the field of renewable energy conversion and alternative resource exploitation. One of her focus areas will be the production and utilisation of alternative fuels and chemicals. It means that renewable energy and simple feedstock, such as CO2, nitrogen or waste are employed to supply daily-life products instead of using fossil resources as energy and carbon source. This is inspired by nature, where photosynthesis transforms sunlight, water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and sugar molecules. With her extensive experience, the EIC increases the scope of technological and application areas and expands its vision-building capabilities and its pro-active approach to managing portfolios of projects. The EIC is proud to have appointed the fourth female Programme Manager.
