A delegation from the French Agency for AlUla Development visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises, on Wednesday, 26th of April 2023, in order to explore opportunities and domains of collaboration on cultural heritage related matters.
Hosting the meeting was CyI President Prof. Stavros Malas, in the presence of STARC Director Dr Michel Menu, and CyI Assistant Vice President of Policy and Internal Communications, Mrs. Eleni Sophocleous.
The delegation was given a brief presentation overview on CyI’s research and educational activities, had the chance to meet in person STARC and APAC researchers and faculty, as well as to have guided tour of selected CyI Facilities and Laboratories such as the Chemistry Lab, the Unmanned Systems Research Laboratory (USRL), the BioMERA MicroCT Facility, the High Performance Computing (HPC) Facility, all STARC Laboratories – including the Andreas Pittas Art Characterisation Laboratories (APAC Labs), the Virtual Environment Lab, the Archaeological Science Lab, and the Human Bioarchaeology Lab.
The delegation included, the Member of the Royal Commission for AFALULA, Kingdoms Institute Executive Director, Mr. José Ignacio Gallego Revilla, the Member of the Royal Commission for AlUla, Kingdoms Institute Museum and Exhibitions Advisor, Mr. Jeffery Johnson, the Member of the Royal Commission for AlUla, Kingdoms Institute Office Manager, Mrs. Zuhur A. Alanazi, the Director of Archaeology at the French Agency for the Development of AlUla, Mrs. Ingrid Périssé, the Head of Museum Projects of the French Agency for the Development of AlUla, Mrs. Tehzeeb Sandhu, and Kingdoms Institute Archaeology Research Manager at the Royal Commission for AlUla, Mr. Saeed Alahmari.
