The Cyprus Institute and the Department of Town Planning and Housing signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of continuing and expanding their cooperation in areas of common and public interest.
Specifically, the Memorandum of Understanding came into force on 1 September 2024 for a period of 5 years, and aims, among others, at cooperation in the areas of preservation, recording, protection and promotion of the architectural heritage of Cyprus.
CyI has successfully collaborated with the Department of Town Planning and Housing in the past, with European research programs such as the Urban PERIScOPE project, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Georgios Artopoulos that was completed in 2023.
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, the organizations commit to further promote their cooperation through the submission of research proposals, the exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as the joint organization of lectures, conferences and workshops on issues of common interest. Particular emphasis will be given to the implementation of actions within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan project and specifically for the Investment “Digitization of Architectural Heritage”.
