The Cyprus Institute received a total of three awards at the CY GPP AWARDS 2022 event, held on Tuesday 29th of November 2022 at the amphitheatre of the Central Bank of Cyprus (sponsors of the event) in Nicosia.
The Cyprus Institute was awarded 1st place for the integration of a Green Public Procurement (GPP) Strategy and Action Plan and additionally awarded 1st place in the individual category of “Computer Equipment” for the tender procedure “Purchase of Computational Infrastructure for the needs of the HPCF”. A third award was also secured in the individual category of “Cleaning products and services” for the Institute’s competition of “Environmental and Socially Responsible Cleaning services and Products”.
The GPP Awards have been established by the Department of Environment in collaboration with the Cyprus Energy Agency, with great participation by public bodies, bodies governed by public Law and also Private Organisations. The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Dr Costas Kadis, presented the awards.
The awards recognize organizations that stand out each year for the publication of Green Public Procurement and whose activities relate to the promotion of green purchases and their implementation, and the systemic introduction of green and sustainable criteria in their purchases.
