The 1st TWIN4MERIT webinar organised by the European Office of Cyprus will take place (online, via Zoom) on the 20th of December 2023 on 13:00-15:00 EET. The speaker, Dr Marios Demetriades (Executive Director at the European Office of Cyprus, Director of Research & Innovation Support Service, University of Cyprus) will present the TWIN4MERIT project and its activities and will also introduce the National Chapter of CoARA for Cyprus and its planned activities for years 2024-2025.
The activities of both the TWIN4MERIT project and the National Chapter of CoARA for Cyprus are focused on research assessment and the need for its reform through the shift towards open science practices, qualitative research assessment coupled with responsible use of metrics, diversity and equality in research and the need to depart from traditional research assessment indicators to more inclusive criteria that take into account the multidimensional impact of research. The webinar will serve as a means for analysing the latest developments in research assessment at the EU level for academic and research organisations in Cyprus, aiming at improving their research support mechanisms and assessment practices.
