The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), on 26-30 May 2025, hosted twenty-four (24) members of academic and administrative staff from twenty-three (23) Universities, from sixteen (16) countries, at the 10th Erasmus+ International Training Week, which was organised by the Mobility Office. The main objectives of the Working Week were, among others, to bring together staff members from the different universities, so that they could exchange experiences and best practices, while promoting the consolidation of new research and educational processes, in the context of internationalisation. This year’s event attracted the interest of higher education institutions from different countries of the European Union, as well as third country institutions based in Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, South Africa, Lebanon, Malaysia and Palestine.
In the context of the Training Week, participants had the opportunity to attend and deliver presentations that highlighted the important prospects and the enormous benefits of distance education, which is intertwined with the AYP. The presentations that took place were related to academic and administrative support for the student community, the interface with the labour market and also touched on topics such as internationalisation, marketing, human resources management and research. In addition, the Educational Materials and Methodology Laboratory presented the TeleLearning Platform and the modern digital teaching and learning tools that the University utilizes, as well as best practices for the integration of online tools and pedagogical methods to enhance the learning experience. In addition, the Chairman of the CSR Board of Governors spoke about the importance of corporate responsibility and sustainability in higher education.
During the 10th Erasmus+ International Training Week, various cultural activities took place, such as the visit to the traditional village of Lefkara, thus enabling participants to get in touch with the rich history and traditions of Cyprus. The institution of the International Working Weeks is a catalyst for enhancing the mobility of both students and staff, thus broadening the prospects for cooperation with international universities abroad.
