Open University of Cyprus (OUC) : Hybrid Workshop on Gender Equality Issues

The Open University of Cyprus (OUC) is being visited by Dr Judith Alejandra Kohan, Professor at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Member of the Council for the Advancement of Women in Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Israel, for a series of open lectures and workshops in the framework of the Erasmus+ International Mobility Programme. Dr. Kohan’s research interests focus on the areas of giftedness and gender, as well as the assessment of students’ cognitive abilities in STEM subjects.

On Friday 31 March 2023 at 17:00, there will be an open hybrid seminar entitled “Gender Equality Issues” with Dr Kohan as speaker. With the aim of promoting social change, the speaker will explore the concepts of rights, justice, identity and awareness in the contemporary world to create the right conditions for equal opportunities for the development of every person regardless of gender. The seminar touches on issues related to the discipline of feminist/women’s studies and gender studies and addresses how education at all levels must contribute to the development of contemporary societies in ways that promote equal opportunities. The seminar will take place at the main building of the APS in Nicosia (33 Giannou Kranidiotis Avenue, 2220 Latsia) and will be simultaneously webcast. For online participation, here:
