Nicosia Municipality: Memorandum of Understanding be-tween the Nicosia Municipality and the Institute
The Nicosia Municipality in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute participates in the European Research Project “BIM for Energy Efficiency in the Public sector” (BEEP), which developed an innovative digital methodology based on the integration of emerging technologies, tested in public heritage buildings, such as the proposed Municipal Museum in Markou Drakou Street.
The BEEP methodology incorporates the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Energy Simulation to pursue the optimisation of the energy efficiency (EE) of buildings. This expertise will provide the Nicosia Municipality with a robust method for the energy rehabilitation of public buildings, offering innovative solutions to the needs for technical analyses and financial plans, which aim to enhance the ability to grant energy applications through the Energy Performance Contract, a new strategy supported by private funds.
In the context of strengthening the cooperation between the two entities, it was decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nicosia Municipality and the Cyprus Institute, which was signed on Wednesday 26 October 2022 between the Mayor of Nicosia Constantinos Yiorkatzis and the President of the Cyprus Institute Prof. Costas Papanicolas.

Δήμος Λευκωσίας: Μνημόνιο Συναντίληψης μεταξύ Δήμου Λευκωσίας και Ινστιτούτου
Ο Δήμος Λευκωσίας σε συνεργασία με το Ινστιτούτο Κύπρου συμμετέχει στο Ευρωπαϊκό Ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα “BIM for Energy Efficiency in the Public sector” (BEEP), το οποίο εξέλιξε μια καινοτόμο ψηφιακή μεθοδολογία η οποία βασίζεται στην ενσωμάτωση αναδυόμενων τεχνολογιών, δοκιμασμένη σε δημόσια κτήρια πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς, όπως το προτεινόμενο Δημοτικό Μουσείο στην οδό Μάρκου Δράκου.
Η μεθοδολογία του BEEP ενσωματώνει τη χρήση Building Information Modelling (BIM) και Ενεργειακής Προσομοίωσης για την επιδίωξη της βελτιστοποίησης της ενεργειακής απόδοσης (ΕΕ) των κτηρίων. Η τεχνογνωσία αυτή θα παρέχει στον Δήμο Λευκωσίας μια ισχυρή μέθοδο για την ενεργειακή αποκατάσταση δημόσιων κτηρίων, προσφέροντας πρωτοποριακές λύσεις στις ανάγκες για τεχνικές αναλύσεις και τα οικονομικά σχέδια, τα οποία έχουν σκοπό την ενίσχυση της δυνατότητας επιχορήγησης ενεργειακών εφαρμογών μέσω της Σύμβασης Ενεργειακής Απόδοσης, μιας νέας στρατηγικής που θα υποστηριχθεί με ιδιωτικούς πόρους.
Στο πλαίσιο της ενδυνάμωσης της συνεργασίας μεταξύ των δύο φορέων, αποφασίστηκε η υπογραφή ενός Μνημονίου Συναντίληψης (ΜοU) μεταξύ του Δήμου Λευκωσίας και του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου που υπογράφηκε την Τετάρτη 26 Οκτωβρίου 2022 μεταξύ του Δημάρχου Λευκωσίας Κωνσταντίνου Γιωρκάτζη και του Προέδρου του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου Καθ. Κώστα Παπανικόλα.
