The additional support to the Solidarity Network Nicosia In Action programme with an additional €200,000 was approved by the Norway Grants funding mechanism and the Republic of Cyprus, recognising the significant effort that has been launched since July 2020.
It is noted that the project involves the creation of a strong local solidarity network between governmental structures, non-governmental organizations, associations, and foundations with remarkable people-oriented work, aiming to develop a model of holistic social services to meet the growing needs of the vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in Nicosia, proposing solutions to the challenges they face in order to become active citizens of the population.
The project is co-funded by the Norway Grants funding mechanism (85%) and the Republic of Cyprus (15%) for the 2014 – 2021 programming period and is implemented by the Nicosia Multipurpose Municipal Centre.
The Solidarity Network Hub is housed in a newly renovated building in the walled city of Nicosia and provides innovative psychosocial support services to citizens with fewer opportunities. Specifically, the services provided are: FREE Psychosocial support, from psychologists and a social worker, career counselling, legal counselling, referrals to relevant networking services, etc.
A significant number of organisations, including NGOs, research institutes, universities, and others, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Foundation, adhering to a common vision and objectives, creating a Network of partners that is constantly and rapidly expanding, currently numbering a total of 53 members.

Δήμος Λευκωσίας: Επιπλέον 200.000€ για την επέκταση του προγράμματος Solidarity Network Nicosia In Action
Την επιπλέον ενίσχυση του προγράμματος Solidarity Network Nicosia In Action με επιπλέον 200.000€ ενέκρινε ο χρηματοδοτικός μηχανισμός των Norway Grants και η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία, αναγνωρίζοντας τη σημαντική προσπάθεια που έχει ξεκινήσει από τον Ιούλιο του 2020.
Υπενθυμίζεται πως το έργο αφορά στην δημιουργία ενός ισχυρού τοπικού δικτύου αλληλεγγύης, μεταξύ κρατικών δομών, μη κυβερνητικών οργανώσεων, σωματείων και ιδρυμάτων με αξιόλογο έργο προς τον άνθρωπο, με στόχο την ανάπτυξη ενός μοντέλου ολιστικών κοινωνικών υπηρεσιών για την ικανοποίηση των αυξανόμενων αναγκών των ευάλωτων και μειονεκτούντων ομάδων της Λευκωσίας, που θα προτείνει λύσεις για τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν, ώστε να καταστούν ενεργοί πολίτες του πληθυσμού.
Το έργο συγχρηματοδοτείται από τον χρηματοδοτικό μηχανισμό των Norway Grants (85%) και την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία (15%) για την Προγραμματική Περίοδο 2014 – 2021 και υλοποιείται από το Πολυδύναμο Δημοτικό Κέντρο Λευκωσίας.
Το Solidarity Network Hub στεγάζεται σε ένα πρόσφατα ανακαινισμένο κτίριο στην εντός των τειχών Λευκωσία και παρέχει καινοτόμες υπηρεσίες ψυχοκοινωνικής στήριξης στους πολίτες με λιγότερες ευκαιρίες. Συγκεκριμένα, οι υπηρεσίες που παρέχονται είναι: ΔΩΡΕΑΝ Ψυχοκοινωνική στήριξη, από ψυχολόγους και κοινωνικό Λειτουργό, Συμβουλευτική καριέρας, Νομική συμβουλευτική, παραπομπές σε αρμόδιες υπηρεσίες δικτύωση κ.α.
Ένας σημαντικός αριθμός οργανισμών, συμπεριλαμβανομένων ΜΚΟ, ερευνητικών ινστιτούτων, πανεπιστημίων και άλλων, έχουν υπογράψει Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας με το Ίδρυμα τηρώντας ένα κοινό όραμα και στόχους, δημιουργώντας ένα Δίκτυο συνεργατών που διευρύνεται συνεχώς και με ταχύτατους ρυθμούς, αριθμώντας σήμερα συνολικά 53 μέλη.
