Members of the academic, research and administrative staff of five European Universities participated in an educational activity held at Frederick University during the week of June 6-10, in the framework of the European project Internationally active -professionally valuable (InterAct). A total of 24 participants from five European countries took part in the educational activity: Poland, Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, and Cyprus.

The project Internationally active – professionally valuable is funded by the European Programme  Erasmus+ KA203 – Strategic Partnerships for higher education, and has a duration of two years. The purpose is to identify the reasons which prevent the academic teaching and research staff from participating in international activities such as conferences, international networking, international research projects, etc. and to highlight the advantages which faculty members would gain from being internationally active. During the training activity, the results of an online survey were presented which aimed to investigate the problems faced by academics in internationalisation, to highlight good practices of universities and to promote incentives for improving the internationalisation of academics and their universities. The research was presented by Dr. Petroula Mavrikiou , Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration and Head of the RIGE (Gender Equality and Inclusion Research Unit), as she is the project coordinator on behalf of Frederick University. As part of the training activity, lectures were also given on the different ways of networking, funding opportunities and for the internationalisation at home.

The project ”Internationally active – professionally valuable, involves five partners from five countries: the University College of Enterprise and Administration (Poland – Coordinator), the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, (Portugal), the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Germany), the International School for Social and Business Studies (Slovenia) and Frederick University (Cyprus ) .

Εκπαιδευτική δραστηριότητα του ευρωπαϊκού έργου InterAct στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick

Μέλη του ακαδημαϊκού, ερευνητικού και διοικητικού προσωπικού πέντε ευρωπαϊκών Πανεπιστημίων συμμετείχαν σε εκπαιδευτική δραστηριότητα που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο Frederickτη βδομάδα 6-10 Ιουνίου, στο πλαίσιο του ευρωπαϊκού έργου Internationally active -professionally valuable (InterAct). Στην εκπαιδευτική δραστηριότητα συμμετείχαν συνολικά 24 άτομα από πέντε ευρωπαϊκές χώρες: Πολωνία, Γερμανία, Σλοβενία, Πορτογαλία και Κύπρο.

Το έργο Internationally active – professionally valuable χρηματοδοτείται από το Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα Erasmus+ KA203 – Strategic Partnerships for higher education, και έχει διάρκεια δύο ετών. Στόχος του είναι η χαρτογράφηση των λόγων που παρεμποδίζουν μέλη του Διδακτικού και Ερευνητικού Προσωπικού (ΔΕΠ) ακαδημαϊκών ιδρυμάτων να συμμετέχουν σε διεθνείς δραστηριότητες όπως συνέδρια, διεθνείς δικτυώσεις, ερευνητικά διεθνή έργα κ.λπ. και να αναδείξει τα πλεονεκτήματα που αποκτούν τα μέλη ΔΕΠ όταν δραστηριοποιούνται διεθνώς. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκπαιδευτικής δραστηριότητας παρουσιάστηκαν τα αποτελέσματα διαδικτυακής έρευνας η οποία αφορούσε στη διερεύνηση προβλημάτων που αντιμετωπίζουν ακαδημαϊκοί στα θέματα διεθνοποίησης, στην ανάδειξη καλών πρακτικών πανεπιστημίων και στην προβολή κινήτρων για βελτίωση της διεθνοποίησης ακαδημαϊκών και των πανεπιστημίων τους. Την έρευνα παρουσίασε η  Δρ Πετρούλα Μαυρικίου, Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια στο Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων και επικεφαλής της Ερευνητικής Μονάδας RIGE (Gender Equality and Inclusion Research Unit), η οποία συντονίζει το έργο εκ μέρους του Πανεπιστημίου Frederick. Στο πλαίσιο της εκπαιδευτικής δραστηριότητας, δόθηκαν επίσης διαλέξεις για τους διάφορους τρόπους δικτύωσης, για ευκαιρίες χρηματοδότησης και για τη «διεθνοποίηση κατ΄οίκον» (internationalisation at home).

Στο έργο Internationally active – professionally valuable, λαμβάνουν μέρος πέντε εταίροι από πέντε χώρες: το University College of Enterprise and Administration (Πολωνία-Συντονιστής), το Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, (Πορτογαλία), το Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Γερμανία), το International School for Social and Business Studies (Σλοβενία) και από την Κύπρο το Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick.
