The European Commission launched two calls for proposals with a combined budget of nearly €5 million to boost societal resilience and increase the reach and societal impact of fact-checked content produced in the EU.
The first call, worth a total of €3.15 million, will fund projects focusing on detecting malicious information manipulation campaigns, as well as on analysing the impact of online disinformation on citizens, while developing concrete responses to increase societal resilience.
The second call, with a budget of around €1.6 million, will fund projects that increase the reach and impact of content produced by independent fact-checking organisations in the EU through creative strategies and media formats. Projects should build networks with media outlets, content creators, influencers, and podcasters to create and distribute content.
The deadline for applications to both calls is 16 June 2025, with civil society, universities and research centres, among others, eligible to apply. The winning projects will collaborate with the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).
