Digital nominations in Erasmus Without Paper: a practical guide for higher education institutions

Digital nominations are increasingly critical for higher education institutions, as Erasmus+ mobility processes are managed online more and more. This guide answers a clear demand for staff on how the process should work in practice.

The digitalisation of Erasmus+ mobility processes has been progressing rapidly in recent years. With this a comprehensive guide on digital nominations in digital form via the EWP Network, the European Student Card Initiative aims to provide valuable support for institutions across Europe.

Designed by practitioners for practitioners

The newly released guide is intended primarily for international relations officers and mobility coordinators working with Erasmus+ mobilities. It provides a non-technical overview of the digital nomination process within the 2021–2027 Erasmus+ programme.

The guide was developed in close collaboration with international relations officers, ensuring that it reflects the realities of day-to-day work in higher education institutions. It incorporates their input and practical experience in order to offer hands-on support for staff managing digital nominations.

System agnostic guidance

Importantly, the guide does not focus on any specific mobility management system. Instead, it explains the shared processes and data standards used across the EWP Network, ensuring that institutions using different software solutions can still work with a common understanding of how digital nominations function.

Issues covered include

  • how to manage nomination process from both sending and receiving organisations’ perspectives;
  • description of the different elements and data fields;
  • practical explanations for day-to-day work and case handling.
