Cyprus University of Technology: Scientific Workshop on Investigating the Role of Religious Heritage in Responsible and Sustainable Tourism: A Global Approach

The School of Tourism, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship and the HERACLEITOS Centre for Social Research and Regional Development of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) are organising a scientific workshop entitled: “Exploring the role of Religious Heritage in Responsible and Sustainable Tourism: A Global Approach”.

The workshop will take place on Thursday and Friday (26 and 27 October 2023) at the new premises of the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship Management of the Cyprus University of Technology in Paphos.

The workshop aims to provide a forum where leading scholars will gather to discuss and examine issues related to the relationship between sustainable development of tourism/religious tourism, the contribution of religious tourism to reconciliation and peace as well as issues of religion as tool for the promotion and protection of cultural and religious heritage.

The workshop is organised within the framework of the project “Recult Magnum – Maximising the impact of Religious Tourism in Greece and Cyprus through the targeted promotion and dissemination of the cultural and religious heritage of the Churches of Greece, Crete and Cyprus” financed by the European Regional Development Fund Development Interreg.
