With the aim of making Cyprus a regional centre of excellence in the fields of research, science and culture, the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts signed a Protocol of Cooperation, launching a strategic partnership that promotes the linking of the academic community with culture and science.
The Protocol was signed on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the CUT, in the presence of the heads of the two institutions.
The Rector of CUT, Professor Panagiotis Zafiris, and the President of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Academician Achilleas Aimylianides, underlined the importance of this agreement, which will strengthen the cooperation between the two institutions and promote the development of new scientific and cultural initiatives and activities.
The cooperation includes, inter alia, the exchange of knowledge and know-how between the two institutions, the co-organisation of joint scientific and educational events and activities, as well as participation in funded research projects on issues of common interest.
This cooperation will also contribute to the development of joint educational and academic programmes, to the promotion of innovation and technological development, and to the implementation of joint activities and events that enhance literacy, art and culture.
This agreement is expected to offer significant opportunities to promote excellence and development in Cyprus and to strengthen the country’s position in the global academic and cultural community, while providing substantial benefits for youth, academia and the wider society.
