Commission gives its Seal of Excellence to outstanding LIFE project proposals

The European Commission has awarded 73 Seal of Excellence certificates to high-quality and promising proposals submitted under the 2021 LIFE Call for Standard Action Projects.

The proposals could not secure funding due to budgetary constraints under this specific Call, but they received high assessment scores in the demanding and independent evaluation process.

With this quality label, the Commission recognises the value of project proposals. And it encourages other national or regional funding organisations to take advantage of LIFE’s high-quality evaluation process without performing a new one.

The Seal of Excellence demonstrates a political commitment to build effective synergies with other funding instruments. It is unique and safe, digitally sealed against fraud, as is the project proposal and evaluation summary report.

The label was first introduced during Horizon 2020, the EU’s research and innovation framework programme (2014-2020).
