In the context of the European Green Dealand REPowerEU, EU Member States have given the green light to a Commission proposal to invest € 602 million of EU funds in developing cross-border energy infrastructure projects that contribute to the development of the TEN-E networks.

From a total of 24 submitted proposals requesting over EUR 2.3 billion out of the EUR 800 million available for the development of energy infrastructure, eight projects have been selected to receive a grant under the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy programme.

The selected projects cover both works (4) and studies (4) in the fields of electricity, gas, CO2 and smart grids; involve 10 different countries; and will be funded globally with over EUR 600 million.
