Memorandum of Understanding Signed between the KIOS Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus and Leading Cybersecurity Company Okta Inc.
The KIOS Center of Excellence for Research and Innovation at the University of Cyprus and Okta Inc., one of the world’s leading cybersecurity companies headquartered in San Francisco, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
This collaboration — initiated by Professor Angelos Marnerides of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering — aims to strengthen existing cooperation in research and innovation activities to address emerging challenges in the field of cybersecurity. Okta Inc., as a major player in the global cybersecurity market, contributes expertise and empirical data, enabling KIOS and the University of Cyprus to align their research with market needs and deliver solutions with immediate industrial impact.
KIOS and Professor Marnerides are already working with Okta Inc. in areas such as cyber threat intelligence and anomaly detection, with a focus on the early identification of large-scale cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure. The collaboration has already yielded significant research results that have been showcased internationally at top IEEE ComSoc conferences, such as IEEE ICC and IEEE GLOBECOM.
