On Monday, 18th of November 2024, the Research Centre in collaboration with the Centre for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) of the UoL, successfully launched the first of a series of trainings as part of the University of Limassol’s Gender Equality Plan (GEP) 2024-2026.
UoL staff members participated in this comprehensive training session titled “Applying Cultural Intelligence (CQ) to Strategies for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion.” The training was led by Dr. Andri Hadjiandreou, director of UoL Center for DEI and certified Cultural Intelligence and Unconscious Bias trainer.
The key objectives of the training were to:
– Understand cultural values and how these influence behaviour and decision-making.
– Recognise and manage unconscious bias.
– Assess and develop skills for working effectively in multicultural environments and
– Empower participants with measurable skills that increase efficiency across borders, as well as profitability and cost savings.
As part of the training, participants completed a Cultural Intelligence (CQ) assessment, which provided valuable insights into their ability to engage with people from different cultural backgrounds, strengthening their capacity to understand how to better adapt to diverse working environments.
This training is aligned with the University’s Gender Equality Plan 2024-2026, and the beginning of a wider effort to ensure that the University of Limassol remains at the frontline of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within its academic and professional communities.
