Frederick University: 4th Transnational meeting of CARE/SS project in Poland

Project “Critical ARts Education for Sustainable Societies” (CARE/SS) is about enabling Higher Education Institutions’ digital transformation to support the development and delivery of teacher training programmes in arts education through an online or blended learning environment. It also focuses on enhancing arts education with education for sustainable development elements. The project aims to develop skills, values and innovative mindsets around arts education and to establish bonds of collaboration between the partner universities.

CARE/SS is halfway through its completion. On the 19-20th of June 2023, Adam Mickiewicz University successfully organised and hosted the 4th Transnational Project meeting. This was a crucial meeting as the partners shared their experiences from the training that already took place and their planning for forthcoming training. The variety of arts disciplines (music, visual arts, theatre, and literature), target teacher population (in-service and pre-service), level of education (primary and secondary) as well as teacher specialisation (arts specialists or not), testify to the versatility of the pedagogical model used for online or blended learning in the arts and suggests that many implications will arise by the final outputs of this project.

The project is funded by Erasmus+ KA2 programme, and the coordinator is Dr Victoria Pavlou, Professor of Visual Arts Education, Department of Education, Frederick University, Cyprus. The partners of the project are: the University of Malta, Malta, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, University of Barcelona, Spain and Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland.
