EIT InnoEnergy, the innovation engine for sustainable energy, has been ranked by PitchBook as the most active investor in the energy sector worldwide in their report “2022 Annual Global League Tables”.
EIT InnoEnergy was selected in recognition of its role in supporting over 500 climatetech start-ups since 2010. Its current equity portfolio of more than 180 companies is estimated to potentially generate EUR 72.8 billion in revenue and reduce the world’s annual carbon footprint by 1.1G tons by 2030. These include major disruptive innovations from ocean wave technologies to those that deliver AI-driven energy savings and balancing of the grid.
PitchBook is a financial data and software company that provides thousands of global business professionals with comprehensive data on the private and public markets, and its report: 2022 Annual Interactive Global League Tables, ranked the most active investors by geography, US regions, Europe regions, AUM, Deal type, Sector, and Exits.
In this report, EIT InnoEnergy was ranked as a leading “venture capital firm” in seven tables: Most active in energy sector (#1 Position), Transportation (#2 Position), Commercial products and services (#17 Position) and different positions as most active investor by regions in Europe (#16 Position), the Nordics, Central and Eastern EU, and the DACH region.
This is the second recognition EIT InnoEnergy received in 2023. Earlier in January, EIT InnoEnergy was ranked by Sifted as one of Europe’s most active deeptech investors.
The news of EIT InnoEnergy’s listing in the report comes as the company readies for its annual event, The Business Booster 2023, which will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands 18 – 19 October. The event will see investors, start-ups, major companies, and policy makers gather for a series of discussions on the most pressing industry issues, while showcasing 150+ innovative companies from EIT InnoEnergy’s portfolio.
