In 2025, the One Archaeological Science in the BEMME Region (OneArchSci) project successfully launched its activities, marking a strong start toward capacity building, knowledge transfer, and public engagement under Horizon Europe WIDERA.
Capacity Building
A comprehensive programme of training workshops was delivered, covering stable and radiogenic isotope analysis, GIS, statistics, and archaeological materials science, led by internationally recognized experts. In parallel, specialized training visits to KU Leuven strengthened laboratory skills and analytical expertise for early-stage staff.
Education and Outreach
OneArchSci engaged primary and secondary school communities through hands-on educational workshops, connecting archaeological science with everyday life, food, and the environment.
Dissemination and Outreach
The objectives of OneArchSci were disseminated through active participation in international conferences, scientific workshops, and social media platforms. In addition, two project newsletters were published in 2025, enhancing communication with the scientific community, stakeholders, and the wider public, and strengthening the project’s visibility at European and international levels.
This first year has built strong foundations for ongoing success!
OneArchSci is funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No 101186503.
