SUMMARY:IFIP Networking 2025
DESCRIPTION:The International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Networking 2025 Conference (NETWORKING 2025) will be held in Limassol\, Cyprus exclusively in-person. \nThis is the 24th edition of the series\, sponsored by the IFIP Technical Committee on Communication Systems (TC6) and IEEE ComSoc. High quality papers will be recommended for fast track publications in selected journals. \nThe main objective of Networking 2025 is to bring together academic and industrial experts of the networking community to discuss the most recent advances in networking\, to highlight key issues\, identify trends\, and develop a vision of the future Internet from a design\, deployment and operation standpoints. SUMMARY:TWIN2EXPAND - Research Management Training - Impact in EU funded projects
DESCRIPTION:Date: 27 May 2025 \nTime: 10am-1pm EEST \nTrainer: Valentina Romano\, Head of Collaborative and Multidisciplinary Research Division\, Polytechnic University of Turin \nVenue: SURF Lab\, Department of Architecture\, Kallipoleos 75\, Nicosia \nThe training will focus on the importance of impact in EU-funded projects\, with a particular emphasis on how impact is defined\, assessed\, and measured at both the programme and project levels within the EU funding landscape. Participants will gain insights into the European Commission’s approach to impact assessment\, particularly in the context of Horizon Europe. \nThe session will feature a hands-on\, practical component\, during which participants will analyze a real Horizon Europe call for proposals to understand how impact is embedded and evaluated in the call text. The training will also provide detailed guidance on how to prepare a collaborative project proposal\, with a specific focus on the structure and content of the Horizon Europe proposal template—including Excellence\, Impact\, and Implementation sections. \nAbout the trainer: Valentina Romano has 20 years’ experience as a research manager at the Politecnico di Torino\, Italy. She is currently head of Collaborative and Multidisciplinary Research Division and she leads a team of experts in pre-award activities. From 2018 to 2022 she has been a member of the Professional Development and Recognition Committee and of the Awards Committee at the European Association of Research Manager. Since January 2020 she has been leading a network of Italian research managers (www.italianresearchmanagers.eu). She has experience as a trainer on research management in several courses at national and international level. Since 2023\, she Is a member of the scientific board of the national training course titled “Promoting the Impact of EU Research: Activities and Competencies of the Impact Manager”\, playing a key role in the content organization and coordination of the 3 courses’ editions.
