Project Description

The two-year project “CAREER-EUshop: One-Stop-Service-Career-Guidance-Shop for Europe”, which received funding from the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme - Grundtvig Multilateral projects, was completed in September 2010. 


Impact
The project aims to provide career guidance counsellors in the EU a common framework of best practices concerning vocational guidance, methods and practices that apply to public and private organizations and local authorities in the EU, but also, to develop a training programme for career guidance counsellors.

CAREER-EUshop: Providing high quality lifelong career guidance

The two-year project “CAREER-EUshop: One-Stop-Service-Career-Guidance-Shop for Europe”, which received funding from the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme - Grundtvig Multilateral projects, was completed in September 2010. The project aims to provide career guidance counsellors in the EU a common framework of best practices concerning vocational guidance, methods and practices that apply to public and private organizations and local authorities in the EU, but also, to develop a training programme for career guidance counsellors.

An important deliverable of the project is the establishment of the first European Association of Career Guidance - EACG, which is open to all natural and legal persons and have the following objectives:

  1.     to enable information and experience exchange by career guidance counsellors and HR practitioners;
  2.     to circulate provisions of the Europe 2020 Strategy and its updates in academic and professional circles;
  3.     to support the process of raising education and professional standards and quality in the territory of the European Union;
  4.     to support and contribute to the European Employment and Vocational Education and Training Policies;
  5.     to organize training and train-the-trainer courses γfor the promotion of Life-Long Learning (LLP);
  6.     to organize seminars and conferences, which will enable direct communication among the Association members and beyond and for the definition of new areas of the Association activities;
  7.     to prepare proposals within the framework of EU programmes funded by the European Commission;
  8.     to cooperate as a coordinator or partner in European projects;
  9.     to produce publications of interest to EACG members and the interested audience.

The 4th Annual Conference CAREER-EU 2013 of the European Association of Career Guidance (EACG) was held in Poznan, Poland, 15-19 May 2013. In addition, the education seminars are continued, by presenting those engaged in vocational guidance a successful model and how to design a “One-Stop-Service-Stop”, as well as good practices and useful tools for career guidance counsellors and career service officers. EOC publishes the online journal of the Association informing the members and all interested stakeholders on the developments in vocational guidance and training.
