The Centre for Entrepreneurship (C4E) of the University of Cyprus organized the 5th Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum: “The Challenge of AI”. The online event took place on 18 December 2020.
Data and AI promise new value creation opportunities for business and society. However they also hide new risks. Leveraging these technologies for the best while managing for the worst requires not only new organisational capabilities and regulations, but possibly also new mindsets.
What are some challenges organisations face in navigating this balancing act between opportunities and risks? What can - and maybe cannot - regulators do? Why is AI not like other technologies - and instead requires new ways of thinking about the role of technology in business and society?
The 2020 Forum brought together AI experts, researchers and professionals, decision-makers, entrepreneurs and game-changers to discuss the challenge of Artificial Intelligence and address the defining questions around the future of AI and its impact on society, economy and politics.
IEF 2020 aims to develop an interdisciplinary dialogue on the challenges, implications and perspectives that emerge from recent developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Prospects and data concerning society, economy, the state and innovative start-ups. PwC Distinguished Lecture was “Navigating Data and AI Opportunities and Risks: New Challenges for Business and Regulators”. The Keynote speaker was Professor Theodoros Evgeniou from INSEAD.
