In the context of recent ideology-based movements in Europe and to mark the completion of a policy review on "Addressing Terrorism: European Research in social sciences and the humanities in support to policies for inclusion and security", the European Commission is organising a conference on "Addressing Radical Ideologies and Violent Extremism: The Role of Research" on 26 September 2016 in Brussels.
The policy review will be presented and discussed at the conference. Past and current research stemming from EU funded projects - including on identities, youth, cities, and ideologies that erode social cohesion- will be debated from a policy perspective. Special emphasis will be given to identifying knowledge gaps and research needs in these areas at European level.
